When NEST launched, it was easy to soar in a thermostat market littered with plain utilitarian designs. Today, though, every thermostat looks “smart.”

NO expensive mediocre onboard touchscreens or voice technology!

There is really no need. Why not?

Onboard screens and voice tech are redundant since most occupants already own either a smartphone or smart speaker, or both!

Smartphone touchscreens and smart-speaker voice tech are world class with digital assistants highly intelligent and ubiquitous ! There is simply no need to replicate all of this great UI that is already in place everywhere. This would merely increase cost and add wasteful complexity with little or no return.

OVO apps will run on all smartphones and interface with the most popular smart speakers with our own fast and friendly UI. OVO users will simply reach for their smartphones or summon their smart speakers without physically rising to reset the dial.
The benefit of our UI approach? An affordable, “green” thermostat delivering a higher profit margin.
